Chandigarh: Making full use of information and technology, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has made the life of the people easy and simple for the last 8 years. Keeping with the set goal of minimum human intervention for the ease of the citizens, the state government has also started providing Aadhaar based 22 types of faceless services through Vahan and Sarathi portals. These services have been notified under the Right to Service Act.
The Chief Minister opines that any citizen can apply for these services by visiting the relevant portal and can also check the status of his application. The process will be completed within the time limit of the related work.

To apply on the Vahan portal, the applicant has to visit https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahanservice. On this portal, services including hypothecation continuation, transfer of ownership, rent-purchase agreement, application for temporary registration of motor vehicle, updating mobile number in records for transport services, application for temporary permit, issue of duplicate fitness certificate, change of address, duplicate registration certificate, issuance of new permit, duplicate permit issuance, registration certificate details and permit renewal are available.
9 services available on Sarathi portal
Similarly, on the Sarathi portal, services including duplicate driving license issuance, replacement of driving license, change of address in driving license, provision for extraction of driving license, issuance of international driving permit, clearance to drive hazardous material, clearance to drive in hilly area, surrender of vehicle category from license and renewal of driving license (without driving test) are available. For this the applicant has to visit https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice. The time limit for providing these services to the citizens has also been notified under the Right to Service Act.
