KD-CN Canada: Toronto Police have announced new developments in an ongoing investigation into trafficking of stolen property valued over $5,000, with additional charges now laid against an accused individual.

The investigation began in January 2025, led by officers from the 52 Division Major Crime Unit. In June 2025, police executed a search warrant in the Dundas Street West and Huron Street area. Authorities allege that three individuals were involved in trafficking stolen goods, including liquor and high-end clothing. During that operation, officers seized approximately $250,000 in cash, along with high-end clothing valued at around $200,000 and nearly 100 bottles of alcohol.

At the time, three Toronto residents — Kei Lao, Sao Fong, and Yue Jun Li — were arrested and charged with multiple offences related to possession and trafficking of property obtained through crime. As part of continued efforts in the same investigation, police carried out another search warrant on March 17, 2026, at a residence near Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street West. Officers report that ten bicycles and three e-scooters were seized during the operation.

On March 18, 2026, Kei Lao, now 39, was arrested again and faces additional charges, including possession of stolen property over $5,000, trafficking-related offences, and failure to comply with a release order.

Police also confirmed that the seized bicycles and e-scooters include several well-known brands, indicating the scale and organized nature of the alleged operation. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to target networks involved in the trafficking of stolen goods across the city.
