Chandigarh: As India holds the presidency of G20 from December 1 , 2022 to November 30 , 2023 , the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is conducting awareness outreach programmes throughout Chandigarh- The City beautiful. It is a matter of immense pride that students of DAV College, sector 10, Chahat Pathania , Dixit Gupta , Ajitesh Singh, Ajay Majha from M.A. 2 ; Vipul Rana, Sejal, Sagar from M.A. 1 and Upasana Mishra and Smrity Gupta from B.A 3 attended the conference in Hayatt Regency on 25 January 2023. Not only this, but also the college hosted one of those programmes in the college campus on 27th January 2023.
The event on 25th started off with lighting of the lamp by the honorable chief guest and other respected RBI officials .The discussion was around how India has emerged as global state representative over the years, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC); What is CBDC ? Why CBDC? And why CBDC in India? GST; the problem of tax evasion under it- the probable causes and remedies. The discussion pointed out that the year 2022 was very crucial in terms of CBDC, crypto currency, bank credit. After the discussion the floor was open for questions and feedback from the audience. The conference ended by the vote of thanks by Mr. Rajan.
On 27th January, the conference was held in the auditorium of the college where the conference started with opening remarks by Principal Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma sir and felicitation , followed by lighting of the lamp. The opening session was given by Shri Ram Sarup, Deputy General Manager/Deputy Ombudsman on "Internal Grievance Redressal in Regulated Entities, Alternate Grievance Redressal of RBI." The second session was on 'Financial stability through consumer protection' by Rajeev Dwivedi, Chief General Manager/Ombudsman.The last session was delivered by Shri Lalit Kumar, Manager on opportunities on RBI. After this there was a very interesting quiz . It was followd by a question and answer session where the officials very patiently answered the queries of the students.The conference ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Simran Jaidka. The guests then proceeded for tea and snacks to the Principal's Office.
