PR Agency : Chandigarh: Balwinder Singh Bittu, the key witness in the assassination case of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, has raised serious allegations over the lack of security provided to him. Despite being shifted to Chandigarh 15 days ago, the police have yet to extend any protection.
Bittu has claimed that he continues to face threats from Beant Singh’s killers and their supporters. He has also received threats via social media multiple times. Reports from the CID, CBI, and other investigative agencies reportedly confirm that Bittu is on the hit list of Khalistani extremists and could be attacked at any time.
Balwinder Singh Bittu, who has been residing in Chandigarh for the past 15 days, said that if anything happens to him, the Chandigarh Police will be fully responsible.
He further stated that he has repeatedly met with SSP Security Sumer Pratap Singh to request protection, but his file has been repeatedly shifted between departments without action. Bittu emphasized, “If anything happens to me, the responsibility will lie entirely with the Chandigarh Police.”
