Karandeep-The Police in Toronto need help from the public to find a woman tied to a fraud case near Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue. From May 31, 2023, to May 31, 2025, Maria Corpuz, 43, from Toronto, gave false immigration aid to many folks. She told them she could help with papers for Canadian citizenship and work permits. Victims paid Corpuz, but the documents they received looked like real ones from the government. Later, it was found that these were fake. Now, Corpuz is wanted for three counts of fraud for less than $5,000, three counts of false pretenses for less than $5,000, and two counts of using fake papers. She stands about 5’4”, has a medium build, black hair to her shoulders, and brown eyes. The police shared her photo and want Corpuz to get a lawyer and come in. They think there may be more victims and ask anyone with tips to call the police at 416-808-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477 without using their name.
